What changed — We updated the description of the Service to match today's features (notes, drawings, Moments, anniversaries, widgets) and added rules on prohibited content and a reporting and enforcement process. We also explain how the free trial and memberships work when you disconnect and reconnect, what a “lifetime” membership means, and how much notice we give before changing these Terms or shutting down the Service. Because some of these changes may work against you, we posted them on October 11, 2026, and they take effect on November 10, 2026. If you keep using the Service past that date without objecting, you will be deemed to have accepted them; if you don't agree, you can delete your account in the app before then.
These Terms set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of Naru (the “Service”) and its users.
These Terms take effect when posted in the Service or otherwise made known to users. We may amend them within the limits of applicable law. We will announce the changes and their effective date at least 7 days in advance — or at least 30 days in advance for changes that work against you — in the app or on our website. Each notice will also state that if you do not object by the effective date, you will be deemed to have accepted the amended Terms; continuing to use the Service after that date without objecting counts as acceptance. If you do not agree to the amended Terms, you may end your agreement by deleting your account before they take effect.
The Service provides a home screen showing both people's local times and weather, a calendar that lays both people's events side by side, notes and drawings, a bucket list for things you want to do together, Moments for sharing a single photo of right now, anniversaries, and home screen widgets. Once you pair, your nickname, city, time zone, sleep hours, Naru character, events, notes, shared bucket items, Moments, and anniversary become visible to your partner. Personal data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
Content shown in widgets and notifications appears on your device's home screen and lock screen, so people around you may see it. You can adjust widgets and notification previews in iOS Settings.

You keep the rights to the content you create. We use it only as needed to provide and display the Service — for example, showing it to your paired partner. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.
The operator does not routinely look at your content. We may view specific content, only as far as needed, when it is reported, when it is suspected of breaking the law or these Terms, or when an authority requests it through lawful process.
If you come across content or behaviour that breaks Section 6, you can report it to slee.iconlab@gmail.com. When an in-app reporting feature is available, you can also report through it.
We may change or discontinue all or part of the Service for operational or technical reasons. Features offered free of charge may be adjusted after prior notice. If we shut down the Service entirely, we will announce it in the app and on our website at least 30 days before the shutdown date.
The core features are free. Some features require a “Naru Membership”, which applies to both people in a pair.
Free trial — when two people pair with each other for the first time, all features are unlocked free for 7 days. If the same two people disconnect and pair again, the trial is not given again. We may offer extra trial periods through promotions, under the terms stated in that offer. You are not charged automatically when a trial ends; to continue, you must choose and purchase one of the following.
Prices are those shown on the App Store purchase screen at the time of purchase, and payment is charged to your Apple ID (App Store account). Monthly and yearly memberships renew automatically on the same terms unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal is charged within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Refunds follow Apple's refund policy and applicable law.
When you disconnect, the membership stops applying to your former partner.
You may end this agreement at any time by using “Delete Account” in the app. What happens on deletion is described in the Privacy Policy. Active subscription renewals must be cancelled separately in iOS Settings, regardless of account deletion.
The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, the user's own fault, or failures in third-party infrastructure. Disputes arising from content exchanged between users are, in principle, to be resolved between those users, though we will cooperate through the measures in Section 8. We recommend keeping your own copies of important data.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes between the Service and users follow the procedures and jurisdiction set by applicable law.
